The Gifted Network

An Information Resource for
Parents, Teachers, Students, and Gifted Education Advocates

"Together, we can make a difference!"

Serving Iowa and beyond, The Gifted Network is designed for parents, students, teachers, and all others interested in gifted education resources. Although in its infancy, the purpose of this network is to make finding those resources easier, as well as to "network" with other parents, teachers, and students.

What is it like to be gifted?  How can parents help their bright children adjust to family, friends, and school?  What teaching strategies work best for educators teaching a gifted child in the regular classroom?  In what ways are gifted students similar?  In what ways are they different?  A multitude of information exists providing workable and  realistic strategies for parents and teachers struggling with these questions.  It is the purpose of The Gifted Network to be a link to those resources.

Central to The Gifted Network is its "interactive" web site. If you know of an organization, event, article, or book that should be added to the site, please recommend it!  In addition, you can join The Gifted Network email list.  This will allow you to be updated via email about important events that are happening in gifted education, both locally and beyond.  To join our email network, send an email message with your name to info@giftednetwork.org.

Often in classrooms, the solution to a gifted student's needs is to provide either more work or harder work; many gifted education experts agree that bright students deserve different work!
